Grand Ole Echo with The Jolenes

Smooth Hound Smith
The Get Down Boys

The Jolenes
Meet the Jolenes – London’s favourite all-girl bluegrass band. With harmonies & hairdos evoking a bygone era of vintage glamour and forbidden foundation garments, the Jolenes rustle up a down-home blend of spicy bluegrass and sweet old-time country, with a dash of red hot rockabilly thrown in for good measure. In their signature red frocks, the Jolenes gather round a single microphone in the traditional bluegrass style to deliver songs of love, hate, horses and muleskinners. Add to this hair-raising fiddle, hard-driving banjo, and a foot-stomping rhythm section, and you’ve got yourself some red hot rockin’ bluegrass!

Smooth Hound Smith
Smooth Hound Smith is a foot stompin’ folk-blues duo comprised of singer/multi-instrumentalist Zack Smith and vocalist/percussionist Caitlin Doyle. They record and perform a varied and unique style of folky, garage-infused rhythm & blues.

Using primal foot percussion, complex, fuzzed-out, finger-picked guitar patterns, warbled harmonicas, distorted vocals, and tasty harmonies, they are able to create something rugged and visceral- a modern interpretation of early blues, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll music that harkens back to the traditions of hazy front porch folk songs as well as raucous back-alley juke joints.

The Get Down Boys
The Get Down Boys formed in West Los Angeles in the Spring of 2010. The founding members had much in common but mostly two things: their love of bluegrass music and common alma mater, Berklee College of Music in Boston. The Boys hail from all over the US (Virginia, Missouri, Connecticut and Massachusetts).

Since then they’ve toured over thirty US cities, released an album of original material, and performed alongside some of the industry’s leading icons.
