Azul's weekly events offers a bit of everything for those who seek variety. Tucked away in the heart of San Francisco's Union Square, you'll be whisked into a lush ocean of blue when you step in. We offer signature cocktails that flow with the season's ripest fruits and berries. Sip and enjoy to great music six days a week.
The Scene This intimate, two-tiered space is heavily accented in metallic blue and sparsely decorated with colorful paintings. Purple candle-like lamps dimly illuminate the bar area, which fills with suit-and-tie regulars. Black-clad servers attend to an after-work crowd in the narrow room, where a cluster of designer chairs and leather couches--some shaped like mattresses--sit atop a wood floor and underneath an arched, metallic ceiling.
The Draw Azul is near Union Square, but its hard-to-find alley location means no touristy crowds. Most nights, CDs fill the room with Spanish or downtempo grooves, but Thursdays-Saturdays, much of the main floor's furniture is removed to provide a dance space in front of the live band or DJ. The homemade sangria isn't very strong, but sure is delicious.
