The newest hot spot in downtown Minneapolis! Located just north of the warehouse district on 800 Washington Avenue – it’s where elegant sophistication meets eclectic culture. From the live jazz to the five-star culinary creations to the opulent surroundings, Babalu accentuates everything that’s unique and satisfying surrounding the entire Latin-Caribbean dining and entertainment experience.

The menu is extensive, yet easy to navigate; touting tropical specialties like Tapas, Cuban Mojitos, Puerco Asado and Ropa Vieja. Entrée options range from chicken and game, seafood, steak or pork and are priced from $12 to $30. The menu also boasts an array of unique and traditional appetizers, soups, salads, house specialties and desserts. Smaller and less expensive selections are available over the lunch hour, priced and packaged to accommodate the busy working professional.

A spacious lounge area offers complimentary live music three days a week starting on Thursday evenings. Entertainment composition will concentrate around Latin, Brazilian, Cuban and Jazz. Eccentric, retro and classic cocktails will be mixed by a gregarious bar staff – complimented by a relaxed and sizeable lounging area. In addition to a wide variety of cervezas and wine from Chile, Argentina, France, Spain, Italy and New Zealand, bar exclusives will include the “Babalu Special” which unites six different rums and a variety of Island fruit juices.

Lunch will be served daily from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the lounge and dinning room serving nightly from 5:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. Menu selections will change daily. Encompassing culture, art, music, history and food from Puerto Rico, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Venezuela, Babalu isn’t just about dinning, but exaggerating everything surrounding the Latin-Caribbean experience. There is no cover, but advanced reservations for dinner are recommended. There is ample and inexpensive hourly parking adjacent to the building – just north on Washington Avenue or valet service will be available daily at the front entrance.
