Bravo restaurant is tucked away in a heritage warehouse. The cuisine is continental with a pacific northwest twist. Feast on succulent seafood, a variety of meat dishes and vegetarian fare. A deliciously romantic yet casual evening on the town. Bravo restaurant is tucked away in an old heritage warehouse located at 1218 wharf street immediately to the left of the Regent Hotel. The grand old building has seen many faces. It was originally a liquor warehouse and saloon. Recently it fell into the hands of John Buxcey and underwent a major facelift. Its' dramatic interior provides a wonderful setting for modern painting, tapestry and sculpture. The combination of music (jazz and blues) spilling down from the martini lounge onto the hardwood floors of the lower room and tantalizing aromas floating out from the kitchen heighten the senses and inspire conversation. John Buxcey is one of Victoria's most experienced restaurateurs. He has opened and/or operated a number of very successful dining establishments in Victoria and Vancouver. John has spent years collecting the ideas that are incorporated in Bravo restaurant. "Bravo is casually elegant," says John. "It takes you away from the stress of modern day life, at an affordable price. At Bravo, great food doesn't mean excessive expense or a suit and tie. We want you to feel like a person, a special individual. Feel comfortable, drop in for a short time and stay for a long time." What do the critics think of Bravo's food? Alan D. Haddow: "To begin we had the lobster perogies, these were incredible, enough for all of us to share and there wasn't one who did not marvel at this choice. Additionally we had the Bravo crab cakes. If it was possible we felt that these were even better than the perogies." Ricardo Ordonez: "The cuisine is continental with a pacific northwest twist. Bravo serves lunch at 11:30 Monday-Friday, lunch and brunch at 11.00 Saturday and Sunday and dinner at 5:00 pm, every day of the week. Reservations are suggested.
