Casbah is located at 1007 West Main Street, in the Brightleaf Square District.
We are a private club. (Under North Carolina state law, if you dont sell food but do sell liquor, you have to be a private club.) What does this mean for you? You need to be a member to come in and all you have to do to be the latest member of Casbah is fill out our membership application. Well, that and bring it to us with $5. Members may sign in up to 2 guests per night once they have been members for 24 hours.
We are a Cash Only at the door. We do have an ATM, though, and there is a Bank of America ATM located in Brightleaf Square, next to El Rodeo (which is 1 block away).
About the Building
Casbahs former life was a flower shop; Wells-Lloyd florist was a fixture in Durham for many years but closed in the mid-2000s. The building was constructed in the 1920s and extensively remodeled in the 1960s by the current owners, at which time the name-inspiring triple arches were built and installed.
Casbah is owned and operated by Fergus and Jana Bradley. Fergus is also co-proprietor of West Main Streets Federal, James Joyce Irish Pub, and Alivias Durham Bistro.
