Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO
Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at Chastain Park Now in its 64th season, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) is considered one of America's premier orchestras. Under the leadership of Music Director Robert Spano and Principal Guest Conductor Donald Runnicles, the Grammy Award-winning ASO is well known for the excellence of its live performances and recordings, as well as its renowned choruses. The ASO is also one of the leading music promoters in the Southeast and has been consistently ranked in Pollstar Magazine's Top 100 promoters worldwide (based on annual ticket sales). The Orchestra's Classic Chastain concerts at Chastain Park Amphitheater attract audiences of more than 100,000 every summer. With the opening of Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in May 2008, the ASO became the first U.S. orchestra to annually perform and present in a concert hall and two major amphitheaters. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra would like to thank the City of Atlanta’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs for operating and maintaining Chastain Park. Chastain Park is 268 acres, the largest public park in the City of Atlanta, and is located in a residential area. It is a historic park with not only a 6,000 plus seat amphitheater, but also a horse park, golf course, tennis center, recreation center, playground, pool and 3.4 miles of PATH. This array of amenities sets Chastain apart and allows a multitude of users to enjoy it each year.
