Wishing to share his love of “the Blues,” Issac Tigrett founded House of Blues to bring music from the rural south, including; Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Jazz, and Roots-based Rock and Roll to the world. Taking its inspiration from southern juke joints, House of Blues has a warm atmosphere filled with hand-painted signs and murals, collections of art, and more. Original folk art, curtains that pay respect to enslaved Africans that used the Underground Railroad as a passage to freedom, and a metal box under the stage filled with Delta Mississippi mud, all enforce the Southern culture that House of Blues represents.
