Memphis Sounds Lounge
The development of Memphis Sounds Lounge was part of the initial vision to build a boutique hotel with a lounge featuring world class entertainment in downtown Memphis. This vision led to the development of the Benchmark Hotel and Memphis Sounds Lounge in 1983.
The lounge became an instant hit among locals and with hotel guests. Because so many hotel guests frequented the lounge it was able to develop a national reputation as the place to visit when in Memphis. Hotel guests from many countries in Europe have informed us of their enjoyment at the Memphis Sounds Lounge.
It's success can be attributed to the fact that it provided world class entertainment in a cozy, intimate atmosphere. The lounge closed at the Benchmark Hotel in 2001 to make room for Dennys Restaurant. It opened back up in 2008 inside the EconoLodge Downtown.
