Voted as having the best cocktails and view according to the Toronto Sun Awards, Panorama serves up plenty of both along with a strong romantic feel from on top of its perch on the 51st floor of the Manulife Centre. The view of the city is incredible and can be admired from the city’s highest outdoor patios on both sides of the building (north and south), with teak deck chairs and small tables for sky-high socializing. If inside is more to your liking, the main room and bar has floor to ceiling windows with a spectacular city view. Panorama is well known for its extensive cocktail menu but also serves light meals and its signature ‘hot rocks’. Hosting roughly 150 private functions a year, they’ve become one of Toronto’s most popular special event venues.
Well above the high-flying retail stores that line Toronto’s Bloor Street is one of the city’s best-kept secrets, Panorama Restaurant & Bar. Outfitted in furniture from UpCountry Canada, Panorama is the perfect spot to take a date, entertain clients, or hang out. Inside the spacious metallic-hued environs, two-person parties can get a bird’s eye view from any one of the tables that line the restaurant’s towering windows. Anchored by a modern-looking bar, which is retrofitted with steel and wood elements, Panorama offers larger parties plenty of space to kick back and relax. Warmly lit tables, coupled with deep-seated black chairs, provide plenty of sight lines to take it all in.
Borrowing a trend from hip NYC hotspots, the restaurant has a brightly lit room tucked sneakily in the back, replete with blood-red couches and tapestries. However, it’s the patio that really stands out. Fostering the restaurant’s popularity as a great date spot, cozy loveseats let visitors comfortably check out the CN Tower, the beautiful waterfront (to the south), and the expansive Yonge Street and the never-ending suburbs (to the north). At night, the view shows the city in all its neon-glory, while daylight trippers can either gawk at the clusters of financial district buildings, or the greenery of Rosedale.
Keeping with the restaurant’s world-class views, Panorama doesn’t skimp when it comes to offering visitors the best drinks money can buy. Large parties can partake in the venue’s bottle service and enjoy their favourite spirit by the bottle. Those whose tastes are a little more eclectic won’t want to miss the restaurant’s host of frozen cocktails. Look for Panorama’s namesake drink as well as the wide selection of champagne cocktails. A selection of premium beers is also available.
Besides the sumptuous views and delectable drinks, Panorama offers a menu that hits all the right notes. The thin-crust pizzas blend the finest herbs and take its cues from California health-conscious cuisine. A variety of seafood and fingerfood are also available.
