San Felipes Cantina
Rarely does a restaurant stand out from the “corporate cookie cutter formula” and still turn a profit for every key operating time slot while maintaining an air of independence that makes for such great fun with customer and employee alike. San Felipe’s Cantina has certainly met this challenge while retaining its customers base, productive employees with awesome moral and most of all a profitable business. It is Coastal Mexican food with an attitude served up alongside a night life atmosphere that keeps the customers returning for their much needed ‘Local Spring Break’ here at San Felipe’s Cantina.
San Felilpe’s is the ‘brainchild’ of long-time high school buddies Jim Keller and Drew Gruver in Phoenix, Arizona – The Valley of the Sun. Back in the late ‘70’s inspired by frequent trips to Rocky Point and San Felipe, Mexico for ‘Spring Breaks’ throughout the ASU and NAU college school year, the dream was born at a sandy beach camp amid pyramided cases of canned beer, barbequed Mexican shrimp, cheap tequila, tiny bikini’s and some musically inclined friends with sand filled guitars. The dream evolved into a vision that has emerged as a successful, contagious, profitable and uniquely positioned themed restaurant concept.
Coastal Mexican Food – With Attitude! – The newest San Felipes is located at the great destination spot of Desert Ridge Marketplace, located just north of the 101 @ Tatum in North Phoenix. We’re located on the North East Side of the complex.
