SIP Bar & Lounge
Once popular San Francisco DJ incubator & cocktail lounge of the dot-com-boom era formerly known as the Blind Tiger was transformed in April 2005 into SIP BAR & LOUNGE. Redesigned with minimalism in mind, the bar features a spacious 1,000 square-foot main floor with ceilings that soar 16 feet high, cabled halogen spot lighting, and an elevated DJ platform. Although, spacious by San Francisco bar standards, the space maintains a warm cozy feel through a combination of soft lighting, texture, caramel and chocolate hues. Tobacco leather banquette seating line the wall opposite a 30 foot-long, gently-illuminated mirrored-backed bar and below a larger than life video projection wall. A few steps up, the mezzanine provides an intimate, chocolate velvet, curtain-lined 600 square-foot VIP lounge furnished with six black leather sofas, coffee tables, and windows overlooking Powell Street. While often open to all guests, the mezzanine is the perfect space to host private affairs and is available for use at reasonable rates.
