Brand new high energy restaurant and bar in Fort Point Channel - Tavern Road Owners Michael and Ryan.
Michael’s story started over a decade ago with service at the original Sel de la Terre. He learned his trade the same way a great chef or cocktail master earns his or her stripes: by starting at the bottom and working his way up. During his time there he showed enough promise graduating to a position at L’Espalier, a James Beard nominee for “Outstanding Service.” Moving through the ranks, Michael was promoted to management at Sel de la Terre and soon after earning the title of General Manager. Michael went on to work side by side with three of Boston’s service zen masters in Garrett Harker, Andrew Holden and Jackson Cannon at Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drink. It is with this background and the current lessons in hospitality which makes Michael’s role of bringing great service with educated hospitality to the forefront of Tavern Road.
No. 9 Park Alum Ryan McGrale heads up the bar program and takes the ‘hood’s innovation theme to heart with an elevated selection of seasonally-focused hand-crafted cocktails.Combining small batch, locally-sourced spirits alongside a rotating list of cocktail flights underscores the restaurant’s sampling and sharing philosophy. The Tavern Road wine list, spearheaded by Boston’s own Second Glass, is designed to push the boundaries and help guests discover new unknown varietals at accessible price points.
