The Lamplighter Public House

A long-time favorite Vancouver watering hole, the Lamplighter is the city’s busiest pub for good reason. Lamplighter combines friendly service, honest local pub food; a large selection of craft beer and cocktails, comprehensive sports programming, as well as talented DJs and live bands. And as if you needed another great reason to frequent this bar, these amenities are all enjoyed under the roof of what was once the Dominion Grand Hotel (est. 1899) in Gastown. Intact are the original tin stamped ceilings, exposed brick walls, stained glass windows and railings. The rest of this storied building has been given a grand renovation, adding a new sound system, comfy furniture and flat screen TVs, and French doors that open to a brand new patio. For this reason, while this super distinguished venue was good enough for your great-Grandfather, today it is more than good enough for the current generation of nightlife aficionados and the post-work Happy Hour set.

The Lamplighter lends itself to any type of event, be it live music, DJs, sports or simply enjoying time with friends. Multiple weekly and feature events throughout the week and year will keep you and your crew coming back consistently. Trivia Tuesday and Bourbon & Bingo Wednesday, complete with food and drink specials, are just some of the weekly events that bring Vancouver peeps from far and wide to enjoy laidback entertainment. In addition to, events like Rock Steady Thursdays and We Salute You Fridays, ensure a dynamic start to the weekend. Really, no matter what kind of night you imagine for yourself, Lamplighter checks the box on all of them.
