The building was designed by the famous Louis Skidmore of "Skidmore, Owens and Merrill." The Watseka Theatre is believed to be the only theatre he ever designed. He went on to become the "Chief Architect" of the 1933 Century of Progress Chicago Worlds Fair. You may be familiar with some of his and his firms most renown buildings, such as the New York United Nations Building, Chicago Sears Tower and the John Hancock Center.
