The Wokcano Restaurant Group, helmed by partners Michael and Marcus Kwan, open a new location in the recently developed thoroughfare of downtown Long Beach. Wokcano’s sixth Los Angeles area restaurant offers its singular combination of flavorful Asian fare and stylish atmosphere to the visitors and locals of Long Beach’s newest commercial destination.
At Wokcano Long Beach, creative dishes from Japan, China, Southeast Asia, and Korea are featured in such dishes as Seared Albacore with Ground Radish in a Soy Ponzu Sauce; Golden Triangle Maki Roll with Mint & Masago; Black Pepper Beef Mignon; Ginger Fried Brown Rice; and the infamous Tornado Spicy Tuna Dips (spicy tuna mix with cucumber and avocado served with Doritos chips!). Wokcano’s extensive and value-driven sake selection as well as its modern cocktail menu including an Asian-inspired Bloody Mary (with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger) and series of draft beers are served in the dining room and two separate bars within the restaurant.
The Long Beach location is the largest Wokcano restaurant to date and spans over 14,000 square feet with two stories as well as a dedicated teppanyaki room with signature iron griddles. Modern design elements of earth toned colors, smooth leather, and textured stones provide the perfect environment for everything from group lunches and dinners to happy hour cocktails on the patio and late night revelry in the lounge, complete with state-of-the-art sound system and weekend DJs. The large vaulted ceilings and corner location provide ample room for 450 seated guests and up to 800 for a cocktail reception to mix and mingle in several zones throughout the space such as the sushi bar, upstairs lounge, main dining room, teppanyaki room, two patios, two bars, and private dining room that features karaoke.
