Venue Description

Downtown LA has a 30,000-sq-foot Vegas-style playground of restaurants, bars, and nightlife. And it’s all on one floor. Level 8 is a destination that must be seen to be believed. It’s where guests can expect the unexpected. The venues range from a French Teppan steakhouse to a poolside rotating carousel bar with skyscraper views of LA skyline.

The multifaceted Level 8 immerses all senses and desires with a selection of innovative dining and drinking offerings. How to get in? You are escorted down a hallway of pulsing psychedelic lights and ride a mirrored elevator up to the eighth floor. That’s where you’ll find a twisting path leading to glittery rooftop bars, speakeasy-esque restaurants, and stage performances that are mostly camp and occasionally very cool. In the mood to get weird with your friends? Level 8 is custom-built for a big night out unlike anything else downtown.

Level 8 is pure entertainment, with something for everyone, filling a gap in downtown’s nightlife scene. Depending on the night, you might see a twirling trapeze artist suspended in midair, a charming magician doing sleight-of-hand tricks, a famous harpist strumming the world’s longest stringed instrument, or a dapper jazz band performing on a rotating bookcase. For those who think they need to trek to Vegas for an over-the-top party vibe, the fun has come home.

So when is the best time to experience Level 8? All White Attire Party 05.01 and Memorial Day Weekend 05.22—both with music by Power 106 DJ Justin Credible, of course.

Where To Stay

Moxy LA Downtown

Moxy Downtown LA doesn’t whisper—it shouts. A high-rise party hub dripping in neon, packed with food and drink concepts, and designed for social travelers who want their hotel to be as loud, layered, and alive as the city outside.

Neon lights, bold art, and buzzy common areas channel the playful DNA of the brand, turning this skyscraper into a social playground that feels more festival than hotel. Interiors lean maximalist: kaleidoscopic patterns, eye-popping neon, and cheeky touches like disco balls and murals by local street artists. Guestrooms are compact but smart, with foldaway furniture, oversized windows framing DTLA’s skyline, and just the right amount of kitsch—think Marshall speakers, wall pegs instead of wardrobes, and mood lighting that flips from day to after-party.

AC Hotel Downtown LA

AC Hotel Downtown LA sits in the heart of the city, combining modern comfort with welcoming atmosphere. Guests can relax on the rooftop terrace or enjoy a coffee at the café while appreciating views of the L.A. Live entertainment complex.

Rooms are clean and compact, welcomingly calmer in comparison to the nightlife and buzz from the floors below. There’s some seriously impressive sound proofing as you really don’t hear a thing once you’re inside. The design plays it safe – serene, neutral, but all eyes are on that view, with floor to ceiling windows and an uninterrupted horizon all the way to the Hollywood Hills (you can just about make out the Hollywood sign – a thrill for any visitor). Rooms come with everything you need (hair dryers, a safe, even a steamer), but the focus here is definitely getting out and about.
